Month: June 2006

  • So, I’m still waiting for my visa and passport. Yup, I had to cancel my ticket this morning.
The good news is that I didn’t loose all my money – United has give me a $300 credit for a year.
Somethings’s better than nothing, I say.

I am still waiting though – with baited breath. If I get it tomorrow
morning, then I’ll leave tomorrow evening. I didn’t string myself up by
the hair <oooh.. painful> for nothing.

The funny thing is the whole process. Apparently, when I mail my
passport to the Canadian Consulate in NYC, they mail it to India for
verification! I don’t get it. No wonder it takes them 3-4 weeks to send it back to you.
And here I was – hoping it would only take 2 weeks. ha! What presumption.

    ……
    ………

    hahahahahahahahahaha <oooh, my tummy hurts>

    You have to read
    it.

    (and yes,
That’s how I got out of my depression.)

  • aaaaaaaagh.

I read too many emails from school today. The kind that talk about what everyone else in school is doing.
    I’m depressed.

I’m doing nothing. Wasting potential. My friends (old friends) are
angry with me cause I’m always “busy” (“yeah, right,” they say, before
propounding on all that I’m losing in life by being so single minded.)
I wish I were single minded. Single minded to my work. To do something
instead of just talk about it.

    aaaaaaaaaaggggh.

Yes, it’s one of those days.

  • Thank you, Thank you. They’re all on my list now.

(And to think, it takes a question about books for Nav and Anshu to crawl out of the woodwork. I didn’t know you guys were on Xanga!)

But talking about books, wouldn’t it be cool if there was a Netbux or a Nettome?  I could have a queue of books, all waiting to be shipped to me, and as I finished I could mail them back.

I think I’d still do the three-at-a-time deal cause I always read a few books in tandem. Somehow I can’t read one book, finish it and then go to the next, I always have to go back and forth between a few.  These days it’s a lot of tech books. And Tolkien

I bought Silmarillion a few days ago. I’ve read it earlier. But as I approach senility, I forget things.

And then, I’m also in this phase where I re-read books. It seems like too much effort to read something new. I want to read something where I know what happens next! I’m crazy.

But guess what, I’m going to buy a bike today! Yipppeeee!!!

bicycle in the rainAnd I’m going to Toronto in a cpl of weeks. Dad’s on a business trip and I’ll get to spend a weekend with him. Frankly speaking, that’s more time I get with him when I visit home! So yes, I’m really excited. :)

  • Any suggestions for books to read?

    I NEED to read.

Or I’m going to be bottled up for the rest of my life.

Come on… Let me know what you like.
